Harpa is one of Reykjavik‘s greatest and most distinguished landmarks. It is a cultural and social centre in the heart of the city and features stunning views of the surrounding mountains and the North Atlantic Ocean.

Numerous concerts have been held in Harpa from the opening of the building. Diversity is at the forefront and all musical genres can find home in Harpa. Various music festivals are held regularly in the building including Iceland Airwaves, Reykjavik Midsummer Music, Dark Music Days, Reykjavik Arts Festival, Reykjavik Jazz Festival, Sónar Reykjavík, Tectonics and Harpa International Music Academy. The main hall in Harpa: Eldborg

Eldborg has been designed as a world-class concert hall, with state-of-the-art acoustic technology that can be adjusted to performances, conferences and lectures of all kinds. The hall’s design features make Eldborg a truly adaptable modern venue that can accommodate up to 1,600 guests at one time.

Eldborg is the home of the Iceland Symphony Orchestra. They play once a week throughout the winter, but the hall also hosts all other types of music. The Icelandic Opera is among those who regularly have their performances here.

Above the stage is the sound shield or the canopy, which is important for the acoustics of the hall and it is carries many of the electronic devices, lights, the amplifying system, etc. The canopy is divided into 2 parts. The smaller one weighs 23 tons and the bigger one 45 tons. They can be lowered in different parts depending on how the hall is to be used.

Harpa is a complicated house with spaces that each require unique solutions. Tix offers the solutions we need, customizing ticket sales to each hall, it is necessary to be able to set up different versions. Processing our requests is quick and easy and the service level has increased lately. What I'd like to improve is more detailed retraining and faster development of features specifically for the Icelandic market. My favorite features are the online giftcard setup with many options available, special offer links and order history.
